PROUD PAST.
POWERFUL FUTURE.
Our Roots. Our Vision. Our Future.
Founded in 1827, Lucasville is one of Nova Scotia’s earliest African Nova Scotian communities, built on strength, resilience, and deep-rooted heritage. For generations, families have called this land home, raising children, building businesses, and preserving the values passed down through time.
Today, that legacy is being threatened. Developers are attempting to build large apartment complexes in Lucasville without proper consultation or respect for the community’s voice. Despite the approval of the African Nova Scotian Community Action Plan, residents’ concerns are being disregarded and our input overlooked.
Lucasville is more than just land; it is history, culture, and community. Decisions that affect our future must include the people who have lived here for generations. We stand together to ensure development reflects our values, protects our heritage, and supports sustainable growth that respects African Nova Scotian communities.
